History
Attack from Mars was manufactured by Bally in 1995 and released in late winter 1996. It followed Whodunnit and was described in contemporary documentation as a Bally/Williams pinball machine.
Gameplay
The primary objective is to Rule the Universe. Players must collect a Super Jackpot, start Total Annihilation, start Martian Attack Multiball, complete five country Attack Waves and Conquer Mars, start Super Jets, and complete at least one 5-Way Combo. Completing these six major objectives lights Rule the Universe at the Stroke of Luck scoop.
The game includes regular multiball, Martian Multiball, Total Annihilation and Strobe Multiball, along with Rule the Universe. Total Annihilation is a four-ball multiball, while Rule the Universe is a five-ball multiball with many playfield features lit.
Playfield and Features
The playfield includes ramps, loops, lock and saucer features, a motorized Forcefield, jet bumpers, M-A-R-T-I-A-N targets and the Stroke of Luck scoop. The Forcefield conceals the saucer area and is used in the Attack Waves and Strobe Multiball.
During the Attack Waves, players defend five countries before completing Conquer Mars. The game also includes video mode, Skill Shots, Martian Bombs, Victory Laps and a Super Jackpot that moves among designated shots.
