How This Update Library Works
Version pages will turn technical change logs into useful owner-focused summaries while keeping the original manufacturer record attached.
Verify the release
Confirm the version, date, game, status, and notes from a manufacturer-controlled source.
Explain what changed
Separate new features, rules, scoring, audio, video, menu changes, connected play, and fixes.
Connect the history
Place every release in the machine's full version timeline with clear previous and next links.
Keep downloads official
Point owners to the manufacturer for software and instructions instead of mirroring files.
Software can substantially change a modern pinball machine
A release may add complete modes, wizard modes, callouts, music, light shows, display scenes, tournament behavior, online features, operator settings, scoring balance, mechanical safeguards, or reliability fixes. That is why each version deserves more than a copied list of technical notes.
For owners
See whether an update is routine, substantial, beta, urgent, or dependent on a specific installation step.
For buyers
Understand how a machine has grown since launch and how actively its manufacturer continues to support it.
For operators
Find changes to tournament settings, pricing behavior, diagnostics, switch handling, audits, and connected services.
Common questions
Pinball Software Update FAQs
Do all pinball manufacturers release software updates?
Most modern manufacturers update at least some machines, but their release frequency, terminology, public archives, and installation systems vary. This library only creates version records when a release can be verified.
Are code, software, and firmware updates the same thing?
Manufacturers use the terms differently. Game code usually controls rules, scoring, audio, lights, and display behavior. Firmware may control hardware or a shared platform. Each page preserves the manufacturer's wording and explains the affected system.
Can I download the update from Evolution Pinball?
No. Evolution Pinball explains and organizes releases, but software files remain with the manufacturer. Use the official source and instructions linked from the applicable update page.
Should every owner install the newest version?
Usually, but not blindly. Public beta releases, special upgrade paths, required factory resets, firmware dependencies, or model-specific instructions can matter. Read the official instructions before changing machine software.
