Features and play
El Toro introduced triple-tone musical chimes, with different tones for scoring values of 10, 100 and 1,000 points. Cash Box described eight scoring objectives at each of those values, along with rollovers whose value could increase according to the player's skill.
The machine could award extra balls and specials through a mystery-skill system. Players first lit E-L-T-O-R-O using the upper rollovers, then attempted to send the ball through the left center lane when the special was lit. Bally also described the game as operable with or without match and convertible to add-a-ball play.
