Playfield
The playfield includes a Genie Bottle scoop, a captive ball, a magic trunk where balls are locked, the three-bank Morph Chamber, the Secret Passageway ramp, the Showtime Stage mini-ramp and stage, the Star Pit thumper bumper, M-A-G-I-C drop targets, two numbered loops, the Magic Hat gobble hole, and the Crystal Ball target.
The rulesheet also describes a magic wand associated with the left ramp and trunk, along with a green stand-up target for the extra ball and a left outlane saver that can kick the ball back when lit.
Rules and objectives
The main progression is divided into three rounds. Players complete assignments for a sequence of magicians, using shots such as the left loop, captive ball, ramps, Morph Chamber, Magic Hat, Crystal Ball, and locked balls in the trunk.
The third round culminates in a confrontation with Magna Matra. The rulesheet describes repeated main shots followed by final shots that transform her into a skeleton and award 500 million points.
Magic Mayhem is the machine's multiball feature. Players light locks by completing the Morph targets, while jackpots begin at 20 million points and can be built through the right loop and collected at the left ramp.
Contemporary documentation
The contemporary rulesheet is dated October 16, 1995. Its author described the game as a preliminary release and noted that some rules could change when the machine went into production.
The account records a test game configured for ten-ball play and comments that completing all three rounds in a three-ball game could be very difficult. It also describes adjustable flipper power and a steep, fast test-game setup.
