Game Information

Designed by Keith Elwin, Godzilla uses the Xilien invasion story to connect city objectives, Kaiju battles, destruction features, multiballs, allies, powerups, Planet X, and the final wizard modes.

Rules Overview

The central strategy is to start the objectives in a city, defeat its Kaiju, and use the building, ramps, bridges, tanks, and saucers to open the higher-value progression layers. Players can change cities at the scoop or move toward Planet X after the required objectives are started.

Layout

The rules are built around the ramps, building, scoop, right spinner, blue targets, city inserts, Magna-Grab, bridge, tanks, and the Kaiju battle selection at the scoop.

Skill Shots

The controlled plunge offers several skill-shot routes, each building its own value and ball-save reward while improving later skill shots.

City Objectives

City progress is the main game loop. Start the city’s objective set, complete the associated Kaiju battle, and use the resulting progress to qualify deeper city and Planet X play.

RAID - Kaiju Battles

Two ramp shots light the first Kaiju battle at the scoop; later battles require both ramps. Choose the monster with the flippers and follow the flashing shots to win the battle.

POWER - Tesla Strike

Tesla Strike is one of the city objective paths and contributes to the destruction and progression requirements needed for the larger game modes.

BRIDGE - Bridge Attack Multiball

Bridge Attack Multiball is qualified through the bridge objective and converts the bridge shots into a multiball scoring opportunity.

TANKS - Tank Attack Multiball

Tank Attack Multiball turns the tank objective into a dedicated multiball, adding another route to city progress and larger scoring turns.

Destruction Jackpot

The building, tanks, bridges, powerlines, and related destruction tasks feed the Destruction Jackpot and help complete the requirements for the late-game progression.

Main Multiballs

Godzilla Multiball and Mechagodzilla Multiball are the two main multiball systems, with Saucer Attack Multiball providing another major scoring route.

Godzilla Multiball

Destroy the building to start Godzilla Multiball. Lit shots award progressive jackpots; six jackpots light the building super jackpot.

Mechagodzilla Multiball

Advance the right spinner, complete the three blue targets, and return to the spinner to start Mechagodzilla Multiball. Jackpots alternate between the ramps/building and blue targets before the super jackpot timer.

Saucer Attack Multiball

Pop-bumper saucer progress qualifies Saucer Attack and also contributes to the extra-ball path when enough saucers have been destroyed.

Other Scoring

Allies, the Magna-Grab, Imposter Battle, Rage Combo, Monster Rampage, Heat Ray, powerups, loops, trains, and mystery awards provide scoring and progression outside the main multiballs.

Extra Balls

The documented extra-ball routes include conquering cities, destroying saucers at the pop bumpers, and destroying enough jets during Jet Fighter Attack.

Bonus Mini-Wizard Modes

Monster Zero, Terror of Mechagodzilla, and Planet X act as major mode milestones before the final King of the Monsters and Monster Island Madness wizard modes.

King of the Monsters (Final Wizard Mode)

King of the Monsters is the principal final wizard mode, reached by completing the machine’s major progression requirements and qualifying the late-game battle.

Monster Island Madness (Ultra Wizard Mode)

Monster Island Madness is the ultra-wizard layer for players who push beyond the normal final progression and complete the highest requirements.
