A Focused Gameplay Fix With a Major System Upgrade

JAWS v1.02.0 is not a new headline wizard-mode release. Its player-facing changes are targeted corrections and quality-of-life improvements, while the larger operational change is the move to Stern system version 4.28 and nodeboard firmware/protocol v1.33.0.

Owners should consider it the current stable JAWS release. The graphical service menu, ToPS tournament support, local save slots, diagnostics controls, and behind-the-scenes performance work make the update meaningful for home owners and operators even when the gameplay list looks compact.

What Changed in JAWS v1.02.0

Jaws: The Revenge

  • Corrects an issue that prevented the Defeating Quint achievement from being reported.
  • Swaps the East and West beach labels in the eating mode so the screen agrees with the playfield.

Search Multiball

The intro can now be skipped by pressing both flipper buttons, reducing repeat wait time for experienced players.

Life Ring

  • The Easy difficulty setting now correctly supplies a three-quarter-second grace period.
  • The left outlane switch no longer consumes the Life Ring while that grace period is active.

Super Cast N' Catch

Corrects cases where the left ramp advertised the mode even though another wizard mode made it unavailable.

DJ Mixer

  • Adds wizard-mode music to the New Music for Casuals playlist.
  • Adds a Cutting Room Floor playlist for music that did not make the normal game rotation.

Stern System v4.28

  • Adds the graphical service menu, ToPS tournament support, and diagnostics controls for taking switches and LEDs out of service.
  • Adds five internal save slots when no USB drive is present.
  • Updates nodeboard firmware/protocol to v1.33.0 with performance and correctness improvements.

Should You Install v1.02.0?
